Dutch all-rounder pens contract for 2023

Having already broken the news of American Olympian, Lily Williams’s contract extension earlier this week, Human Powered Health can confirm that Dutch allrounder Nina Buijsman has also re-signed for 2023 ahead of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift

“I'm happy to sign for another year,” Buijsman said shortly after re-signing. “The team gave me a lot of trust and helps me to grow as a good rider, so I'm excited about what next year brings.”

The Dutch rider has been a key member of the team’s stage race squads, performing strongly at the Lotto Belgium Tour and Women’s Tour as well as finishing second in a nailbiting finish on stage two of the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas.

The team helped me to give me more confidence and also put me in the right races where I had opportunities and trust,” Buijsman explains of her first season in the Women’s WorldTour. “Also I got some time between the races to train and prepare well, like last training camp in Andorra where the team give us the tools to prepare for the Tour.”

As one of three Dutch riders on the team roster, Buijsman has integrated well within the international setup and appreciates the positive culture that the program has always been well known for.

The atmosphere is really good, which is, of course, important,” Buijsman adds “and I appreciate the organisation and the staff is taking great care of us.”

Ending on a fun note and looking ahead to the future, the 24-year-old commented on how she has found the season so far, one that has seen her race some of the sport’s most iconic races.

“This year flies by, which is a good sign of course!”

Buijsman will be part of the six-rider squad taking on the historic Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift starting on Sunday, find out more in our race preview
