Sprinters Maggie Coles-Lyster and Kathrin Schweinberger scored 9th and 10th place, respectively, in the 156 km Copenhagen Sprint WorldTour one-day race in Denmark.
In an elite field packed full of the best sprinting talent in the sport, the Canadian Olympian and Austrian national champion navigated a technical race with the help of their teammates Silvia Zanardi, Yurani Blanco, Jente Koops and Katia Ragusa.
The result continues the top ten sprinting form of Coles-Lyster and Schwienberger, who both weaved their ways in and out of a technical finale to be part of the final sprint, won by defending champion Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx-Protime).
With the day largely controlled by the sprint teams, the squad also played their part, setting the duo up for the final kilometer having controlled on the front of the peloton for much of the day before the final circuits in Denmark’s capital.
With both sprinters continuing strong form, the team heads into the summer racing block with growing momentum. The teams close out the month of June at the next WorldTour test, the Tour de Suisse Women stage-races, from June 17 to 21, before the Women Cycling Day one-day race in Germany, also on June 21.
