Team USA has selected Lily Williams as part of a strong six-rider track team heading to the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Velodrome in Paris for the Olympic Games.
The 29-year-old will compete across two endurance disciplines. She will team up with Chloé Dygert, Jennifer Valente, Kristen Faulkner and Olivia Cummins in the team pursuit on August 5 and join Valente in the madison on August 9.
“I’m thrilled to be selected for my second Olympics,” Williams told USA Cycling. “Tokyo was an experience of mixed emotions for me, and I channeled all of that into a ton of work, devoting my career to the sport and seeing what I could do.”

A bronze medalist in Tokyo and a world champion in 2020, Williams brings experience to the squad as well as strong road form from her racing season with Human Powered Health.
“I’m thankful for everyone in my corner, especially my partner Gavin, coaching staff, and my road team Human Powered Health, for supporting me and helping me always be honest with myself about my progression,” she said.
Williams has had her best road season ever, scoring podiums in Danilith Nokere Koerse and Dwars door de Westhoek as well as a top finish in La Vuelta España.

“It’s thanks to all of this that I will now be racing two events in Paris,” she explained to USA Cycling. “The team pursuit, and new to me, the madison, which I’ve studied and worked on relentlessly since Tokyo, and it feels so good to see that hard work pay off. I’m so excited to see what we can do in Paris.”
After Paris, Williams will be back to business on the road.
“I’ll be really looking forward to coming back with the team in August and having a full focus on the road,” she said in May.
Williams joins Audrey Cordon-Ragot racing on the road for France and sisters Daria and Wiktoria Pikulik on the track for Poland, of those from Human Powered Health Cycling selected thus far for the Games.
