Marit Raaijmakers

About Marit
Encouraged from a young age to try many sports and establish an athletic foundation, Marit is a strong, tactically-minded racer who has graduated from an impressive generation of Dutch cyclists. A multiple national champion on the track, Marit uses her considerable handling skills to good effect in sprint finishes, technical parcours and on mountain descents. Breakaway rides in 2022 at the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, Itzulia Women and the Tour of Flanders – where she was in the front group during the first ever women’s passage of the mighty Koppenberg – have demonstrated her many talents. Her 2021 GC victory at the Watersley Women’s Challenge and Youth overall win in the Trophée des Grimpeuses Vresse-sur-Semois are a potential taste of things to come as she chases her Olympic dreams.
Living on a farm and with a passion for the great outdoors, Marit finds it calming to hike in nature and nurtures a passion for photography. In 2020, Marit and then-teammate Demi Vollering, embarked on a biking odyssey with tents and camping equipment where they rode high into the Swiss mountains.
