About Marit
Encouraged from a young age to try many sports and establish an athletic foundation, Marit is a strong, tactically-minded racer who has graduated from an impressive generation of Dutch cyclists. A multi-national champion on the track, Marit uses her considerable handling skills to good effect in sprint finishes, technical parcours and mountain descents. Top finishes and competing in all of the Flanders and Ardennes Classics demonstrate her many strengths in one-day racing, but Marit is a versatile rider who has also competed multiple times in all three Grand Tours and was an integral part of these squads in 2025. Marit’s 2021 GC victory at the Watersley Women’s Challenge and Youth overall win in the Trophée des Grimpeuses Vresse-sur-Semois were seminal moments in her burgeoning career.
With a passion for the great outdoors, Marit finds it calming to hike in nature. In 2020, Marit and then-teammate Demi Vollering embarked on a biking odyssey with tents and camping equipment where they rode high into the Swiss mountains.
