Raising funds for UHCCF – and a few glasses along the way.

This weekend, Human Powered Health was delighted to be a part of the eighth annual Velo & Vines fundraising ride. Exploring the vineyards around Healdsburg, CA, right in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country, the event saw participants tackle 36-mile and 62-mile routes, and raised a staggering $185,000 for the United Healthcare Children’s Foundation.

The money raised Saturday will go to fund grants of $2,000 to $10,000 for children in Northern California. The foundation holds events related to cycling, running, fishing and golfing throughout the country. Many of those who rode Saturday were from other states, including Maryland, Michigan, Texas and, of course, Minnesota.

Human Powered Health’s managing director, Charles Aaron, took part in the day’s events and said afterward.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have participated in the Velo & Vines ride this year. The United Healthcare Children’s Foundation is a cause that has been close to our hearts for a long time, so it’s wonderful to see this event raise such an incredible total for the work of such a fine organization.”

The team was only too happy to support the event with canopies to protect participants from the sun at the start, as well as bringing one of our Acura team cars along to support the riders along the routes.
