Rally Cycling Looks to Add to Title Count at Criterium Nationals

After an incredible six days that saw Rally Cycling capture seven national titles and four podiums, the team heads to Louisville, Kentucky for the USA Cycling Pro Criterium National Championships. Defending National Criterium Champion Brad Huff looks to defend his title as the women of Rally Cycling also seek to add more stars and stripes to the team’s already impressive collection.

Brad Huff will look to repeat his 2016 victory

After a year of proudly flying the flag of National Criterium Champion, Huff will be eager to defend his crown in Louisville. He will rely on the strength and experience of veterans Danny Pate and Jesse Anthony to keep him at the front and the race under control. In addition to Huff, Rally Cycling is lining up with a trio of fast finishers in Colin Joyce, Shane Kline and Eric Young. Curtis White, Tom Soladay and newly crowned U-23 time trial champion Brandon McNulty are set to drive the lead out train in the closing laps.

“It has been an honor to wear the National Professional Criterium Champions jersey for the second time in my career,” said Huff. “Developing my skills as a racer in criteriums all over the Midwest and then all over America has given me an understanding and appreciation of what this jersey represents. The jersey belongs to the team. Each result, the wins and the losses have been a concerted team effort. I hope that I can repay those that have sacrificed their results for my own.”

Emma White will look to claim her fourth stars and stripes jersey of the week

In the women’s race, the fast finishing Erica Allar and White will lead the squad. Allar has already captured the 2017 national collegiate criterium title, while White goes into Sunday’s race as a pre-race favorite. White is in the middle of a stellar season with a stage win at the of the Tour of the Gila, the overall at the North Star Grand Prix and sweeping the U-23 road race and time trial national championships. Amy Benner, Megan Heath, Caitlin Laroche and Monica Volk make up the rest of the Rally Cycling roster.

“We are bringing a fast group of ladies to Louisville and have our eyes set on the stars and stripes,” said Allar. “I am feeling good, and Emma is one of the fastest girls out there at the moment, and we have lots of options depending on how the race plays out. It is going to be a lot of fun, and hopefully we can keep the team’s win streak rolling.”
