Sprint duo confirms future with Human Powered Health

Siblings Daria and Wiktoria Pikulik have signed a contract extension with Human Powered Health Cycling through 2026.

Complimenting each other on and off the bike, the sister act brings the best out of each other when performing in the same team, a crucial element when it comes to Daria’s bunch sprint performances.

“I’m really excited that we are both extending our contracts,” said Daria. “I feel that the team really believes in me and it’s a pleasure for me to work with all the people that are around me at Human Powered Health. I’m grateful and motivated for our next two years together.”

Daria has had a strong start to 2024, winning the Ronde de Mouscron in a sprint and finishing on the podium in the Classic Brugge De Panne and third on the final stage of the UAE Tour Women, results that cement her as one of the best sprinters in the world.

Daria’s younger sister Wiktoria, the 2022 Polish national champion, has been an integral part of the lead-out in her first year in the Women’s WorldTour.

“My first year has been very exciting,” said Wiktoria. “It’s the top level in the sport and I’m blessed for the opportunity. I will always try my best to help the team. My goal on this team is to be the best helper that my teammates want and of course, I want to increase my level year by year.”

The pair from Skarżysko-Kamienna in southern Poland have been inseparable from the start. When Daria was introduced to two wheels through their grandfather, it took Wiktoria just ten days to join in after her older sister. She jokes it was because she was bored at home without her.

Since then, they’ve become accomplished track and road stars with the duo teaming up in the Madison at the Tokyo Olympic Games. They are both currently in Milton, Canada at the UCI Track Nations Cup in the final leg of qualification for Paris 2024.

Last year, Wiktoria said: “We know each other as cyclists and people and that is the key. I can put out longer efforts and she is the better sprinter. I am the ice, she is the fire.”

Daria and Wiktoria will be back sprinting on the road in an upcoming early summer block of flat races in Northern Europe.
