At this year’s Amgen Tour of California, Rally UHC Cycling riders piloted six very special, one-of-a-kind, hand-painted bicycle frames. The team’s six “Inspired Bikes”, co-designed with young grant recipients at the United Healthcare Children’s Foundation, raised $26,300 during a live auction at the Amgen Tour of California.

It is the fourth consecutive year the team has raced and auctioned hand-painted, one-off bikes in California, with all proceeds going to benefit the UHCCF. All told, the team has raised $104,000 for the Foundation with its “Inspired Bikes”.
This year’s bikes – Music, Tiger, Greece, Biology, Brick, and Galaxy – were ridden by Nigel Ellsay, Brandon McNulty, Abby Mickey, Kyle Murphy, Emerson Oronte, and Emma White, and saw a lot of action on some of the West Coast’s most iconic roads, before being shipped to their new owners this week.
“Each year, we bring a group of brave young kid’s ideas to life with ‘Inspired Bikes’,” said Creative Director Sam Wiebe. “To deliver a piece of team history into the hands of people who are passionate about our team and are helping a great cause is very rewarding.”
Bids were received from all over the country and at the conclusion of the auction, our “Music”, “Brick”, “Biology”, “Galaxy”, “Greece”, and “Tiger” bikes had sold for a grand total of $26,300.
