Human Powered Health Cycling brought its full roster together at the Human Powered Health Performance Lab in Wellesley, MA, for a week of comprehensive health and performance testing, as well as team bonding and seminars, ahead of the 2027 racing season.
Now in its fourth year, the annual visit provides riders with valuable insights into their physical condition, helping establish individual benchmarks, identify opportunities for improvement, support their long-term health and inform the performance team going into the new year. With the full strength of Human Powered Health behind them, athletes underwent a series of assessments designed to prepare them for the demands of another season on the Women’s WorldTour
“This was our fourth year of health and performance testing, and I am extremely proud of the work we have been doing,” said Ro de Jonckere, General Manager. “We believe that understanding our athletes goes far beyond measuring performance. These tests help us identify strengths and areas for improvement, allowing us to support our riders in reaching their full potential. But just as importantly, some of these tests help us safeguard their long-term health, well beyond their careers as professional athletes.”
That commitment to athlete wellbeing is central to the partnership between Human Powered Health and the cycling team, bringing together expertise in health, performance and longevity.
“It’s better together, as they like to say,” added Dan Cohen, Chief Performance Officer at Human Powered Health. “It’s an incredible opportunity to bring the full strength of our performance ecosystem together to support riders, performance directors, coaches, and staff as they prepare for next season.”
The week was about more than testing, however. With seven new athletes and two new sports directors joining the team, the gathering also provided an important opportunity to build relationships, strengthen connections and establish the trust that will underpin the season ahead.
“It’s always such a beautiful experience to come here because we meet the other half of our team, our American staff,” said Carlotta Cipressi on her third visit to the Wellesley location. “It’s interesting to see all of our data and track the improvement of the team as we are growing each year. It’s really great to be part of the growth of the team. Human Powered Health invest a lot in us, and it’s really appreciated as the data collected helps us year-round.”
Team bonding activities brought riders and staff together away from the testing environment, creating space for new friendships and a shared sense of purpose before December’s training camp.
“I have genuinely seen this group come together over the course of the week, and that is something very special,” continued de Jonckere. “The bonds we are building now will be crucial as we move forward together.”
As the team looks towards 2027, the message is clear: success starts long before the start line, with a commitment to health, continuous improvement and the people behind the performance. Go deep into the testing with our comprehensive gallery.
